GFT is a multinational German that operates globally, with a workforce of about 13,000 employees worldwide, including a thousand in Italy. Its main activity consists in IT consultancy strategic, with a strong focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence. GFT's main customers traditionally belong to the sectors banking and insurance.

In recent years, however, the company has expanded its reach, extending its activities also to the sector Retail and to the third sector. The market in which GFT operates is experiencing a period of stagnation, making the situation difficult for all companies in the sector. In this context, GFT's significant desire is to evolve and become”Consultants to cure“, able to guide customers through current complexities.

The Challenge

During its evolution, GFT has experienced several important stages and, at a key moment, it has chosen to invest strategically in the growth of its persons. This has led to the introduction of roles dedicated exclusively to individual support and development, called”Development Manager”.

In the past, this task was mainly entrusted to Line Manager, but with results that are not always satisfactory. The initial motivation that prompted GFT to move in this direction was the desire to create professional figures truly focused onmentoring and on strengthening people's skills. The intent was to offer concrete support to colleagues and colleagues in achieving their professional goals, which do not necessarily concern career advances or economic increases, but also include aspects such as improvement in communication or team management, ensuring constant support along the way.

GFT has identified the figures most suitable, who have enthusiastically joined the project. Circa 60 professionals were involved in the process, contributing in a valuable way to the success of the initiative.

The Solution

To better support the new nominees Development Manager in their growth path, GFT has chosen to collaborate with Wibo, selected for its fresh, dynamic and oriented approach toinnovation. The program, tailor-made and entitled”Manager and a Coach”, accompanied the participants on a path of personal and professional evolution, with the aim of strengthening fundamental skills to drive effectively and consciously.

The course addressed central issues for those who manage and make people grow: from the functioning of thought according to the model of Whole Brain Thinking to the biology of emotions and stress management, from the awareness of cognitive rigidity to the importance of ethical management oriented to empowerment. Ample space has also been dedicated to the key elements of Coaching, with moments of discussion on how to generate trust in teams, on how to deal with negative feedback in a constructive way and on how to transform failures into learning opportunities.

Through interviews, guided reflections and experiential moments, the participants were able to explore their leadership style and empower it in an evolutionary key. GFT chose Wibo for its ability to combine content solids and current with a communication style approachable, engaging and able to surprise.

The Wibo trainers and the top executives involved have distinguished themselves for their energy, competence and an authentic imprint, offering a training experience perceived as much more incisive than traditional models. The program took place alternating moments in person and remote sessions, to meet the logistical needs of the participants located throughout the country. The initial live meeting had a particularly positive impact: it reinforced the sense of belonging, fueled motivation and rekindled the desire to experience opportunities to Authentic comparison even outside the digital context.

The Impact

The introduction of the development path with Wibo has brought concrete and tangible results in various areas of GFT.

An important change concerns the conscience growing among managers and team managers on the importance of persons as the beating heart of the company. Welcoming, accompanying and making people grow coworkers, together with attentive listening and the ability to formulate incisive questions, have become key elements for achieving surprising goals, fostering a sense of belonging and a work climate more positive and healthy.

The participants in the course reported that they had acquired new skills to be used in the relationship with its collaborators, creating an involvement that has exceeded all expectations. This enthusiasm was translated into a continuous demand for further meetings and moments of discussion, which the participants experienced as valuable sources of new knowledge and emotions.


The initial meeting in presence was particularly relevant, creating a Group climate and strengthening the sense of membership to the community of Development Manager, an element that has had a positive effect on wellness of the participants.

From a practical point of view, there has been a Change in the mode of accompaniment: from a logic in which it was the collaborator who requested support, the development managers adopted a more proactive, directly involving their teams to stimulate growth and keep the dialogue open. Even if it is not easy to directly monitor the impact of the path, one of the indicators used to evaluate the success of the initiative is the number of collaborators that the individual Development Managers actively follow after the course.

Confirming the effectiveness of the program, there is also and above all theenthusiasm of the participants, who are eager to put into practice what they have learned and to share their experience with others.
