Biography

Mirja Cartia d'Asero was the CEO of Il Sole 24 ORE and a member of the Board of Directors since 2020.

Born in Catania, she holds a law degree from the University of Catania and is qualified as a lawyer. She completed advanced training courses at the European Lawyer at the Law Society and C.E.O. School.

With over 25 years of experience in finance, specializing in real estate, she has worked as a lawyer and manager in international settings. She started her career as a lawyer in the banking & finance and real estate sectors, and later worked for 12 years at an international investment bank. In 2015, she co-founded and led ReStar, a company active in the distressed debt sector, which was acquired by Guber Banca in 2019.

Mirja is also the President of Clessidra Private Equity SGR and Clessidra Group since 2025, in addition to being an Independent Board Member of Zurich Investment Life and Italmobiliare, where she holds important roles such as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Control and Risk Committee. In the past, she has held similar roles in FNM, Damiani, and Prelios.

Passionate about sustainability and artificial intelligence, she continues to innovate in her field, promoting initiatives for the future.
